Suggestion: A "social media" search of the NHS Salem eBooks will reveal several articles related to psychological and sociological aspects of social media, such as "social media as social interaction", "social media addiction", "social media and etiquette", and "social media and self-worth".

Suggestion: PowerSearch searches across all Gale products owned by NHS. Complete a keyword search and sort your results to suit your needs.

Suggestion:  Complete a keyword search (i.e., "social media"), then pay attention to the type of eBooks in the list of results.  For example, there are a few articles in a psychology eBook that look at social media from that perspective.

Evaluate your selection before using:

1. Authority?

• An individual? An organization? An educational institution?
• What education or experience makes them an expert?

2. Objectivity?

• What is the purpose of the site?
• Basic information? Persuasion? Selling something?
• What is the motive? Beware of bias (especially from .orgs)

3. Currency?

• When was the site created? Last updated?
• Is this current enough for my research?
• Do the links work?

4. Content Quality?

• Where does the information come from?
• Does the author credit sources or give references?
• References are different than links to “additional information”!
